Post Description



Pay Scale   Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-(Grade pay) NPA (Total emoluments excluding TA HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 54,503/- p.m. approximately)
 
Age   Not exceeding 45 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 48 years for Other Backward Classes candidates and not exceeding 50 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidate in respect of posts reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UTs Govt. Servant upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Government of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL
ESSENTIAL
(I) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

(II) Post Graduate degree qualification in the field of i.e.M.D. (Social and Preventive Medicine)/MD(Community Medicine) Dr.P.H. or any other equivalent degree recognized by Medical Council of India or PG-Diploma qualification in the Field of Public Health i.e.D.P.H., D.I.H., M. P.H. D.T.M. and D.T.M H or equivalent.

The candidate holding DNB qualifications would need to get their qualification verified by NBE as to whether it is as per the requirement of the Gazette notification No.MCI-12(2)/2010-Med.Misc.dated 11.6.2012 and produce such verification certificate at the time of interview.

B. EXPERIENCE
Three years’ experience in the concerned speciality (Public Health) after obtaining the Post graduate degree or five years’ experience in the concerned speciality after obtaining the post graduate diploma.



NOTE-I The qualifications are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
NOTE-II The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relax able at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes , if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Duty(ies)   1. To conduct studies and field investigations in the control of Communicable disease.
2. To assist in the Training programmes undertaken by the institutions.
3. Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time.
 
Probation   One year
 
Head Quarter   Liable to serve anywhere in India.
 
Other Details   Central Health Service Public Health Sub cadre Group ‘A’. The posts are permanent.
 
Any Other Conditions   The other conditions of service will be laid down in the CHS Rules, 1996, and other rules in force from time to time in particular

(a) Private practice of any kind what so ever shall not be allowed including any consultation and laboratory practice.
(b) The candidate selected will, if so required shall be liable to serve in any Defence service or post connected with the Defence of India, for a period not less than four years including the period spent in training if any Provided that such officer shall not (a) be required to serve as aforesaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment or from the date of joining the service, (b)Ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of 45 years
